Part III - realism settings 76%
After having put some distance between us und the convoy, we decided
to surface. I went back to the location of the battle and order the
area lightened up with some light shells, but we couldn't see or find
anything.

Then we went on to our assigned patrol are, searched it, as ordered,
for 24 hours and left for Brest.

Fog cause bad visibility and made Brest and its harbor very hard to
spot. Nevertheless, there was a welcome comittee waiting for us and
listening to the national anthem made us all feel very moved..

After a stop of only 14 days it was time to leave again.

We headed for the Iceland convoys. Extreme weather constantly accompied
us during this mission.

After a long patrol in the assigned area, we were slowly running out
of Diesel and I decided to put to course homewards. Two days later,
we received a sighting message and orders to operate on this convoy.
Since it looked like he was running on our course, this seemed not no
cause new problems concerning the ammount of fuel left. We discovered
the convoy via hydrophones and began closing in. All of a sudden, it
became bright as daylight. An escorting destroyer had turned its spotlights
on us.

We managed to escape easily and started the attack on the convoy.

On one occasion, we got besieged pretty much by a DD, successfully launched
a Bold and got away.

This time, we went into Brest harbour under best weather conditions.

Now I'd like to go a little deeper into configuration the U-Boat before
starting a mission within the campaign mode.

I was even awarded for my achievements during the last patrol.

I also received a lot of awards for decorating certain crew members.

Awarding a crew member will increase his effectiveness which will turn
out to be of importance for future missions. A very nice special feature:
you'll actually see the awards on the crew's uniforms within the game
:) This gimmick generates a deeper solidarity between you, the player
and commander, and your crew.
Now for the U-Boat configuration. For every successful mission, you'll
earn reputation points. With these points, you can "buy" special
items or hire additional crew.

At the end, here's some screenshots showing excercises with the AA guns:
